About Our Firm

Carlos Taboada has been practicing public accounting in the Houston area since 1974. His expertise ranges from audits in regulated industries to basic tax services for closely held entities and individuals. After spending two decades as a partner in other local CPA firms, he formed Carlos Taboada & Company, P.C. (CTC) in June 2011. His goal was to form a boutique CPA firm that specializes in a select group of industries. CTC is located in Houston's Energy Corridor. It services construction companies, multifamily housing projects, homebuilding companies, real estate ventures, employee benefit plans, MHMR centers and not-for-profit organizations. In conjunction with these services, CTC provides tax and compliance reporting relating to the annual filings with the Internal Revenue Service and the State of Texas, as well as the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and the U.S. Department of Labor.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide the highest standard of independent professional auditing and accounting services and personal care to the clients we serve. This requires open communications to reach an understanding of our clients' needs through research and sound analysis. CTC's staff is dedicated to meeting these goals and prides itself on the level of esteem they have earned.

Our dedication to hard work has earned the respect of the business and financial community in and around Houston. We believe this to be a direct derivative of our talent and responsiveness to our client base. Whether you are a current or prospective client, rest assured that businesses and individuals that choose CTC receive competent and timely advice.

During December 2014, we had our last peer review completed. The review resulted in a peer review rating of pass.. The peer review inspects the elements of quality control that are applicable to a CPA firm. These elements include leadership, ethics, engagement performance and professional development. The Texas Society of CPAS approved our review in February 2015.
